Albert “Foster” Thalheimer graduated from the University of North Carolina and also served in the United States Army.
After college, Foster moved to New York and was a partner at Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith. Next, was named a Partner at Bacon, Whipple and then a Senior Vice President of Stifel, Nicolaus & Company.
Later he started his own financial firm, Thalheimer and Company, which he ran for twenty-five years. In 2009, he and his wife Betty, an accomplished artist, moved to Charleston for the quality of life.
Since moving to Charleston, he has been actively involved with the College of Charleston MBA Mentor Program and serves on the Board of Trustee College of Charleston’s Library.
In addition to his community volunteer work, Foster along with Betty, enjoys traveling and is a committed Francophile.
