WELCOME TO OPERATION SIGHT
We are driven by a singular passion: to restore vision and transform lives. As a non-profit organization based in South Carolina, our core focus is to provide life-changing, sight-saving surgeries to uninsured individuals grappling with cataracts and urgent, sight-threatening retinal disorders.
OUR MISSION
We believe that sight is not just a physical ability; it's a gateway to independence, productivity, and a better quality of life. By eradicating financial barriers that stand in the way of vision restoration, we aim to ensure that no one is left behind due to the inability to afford necessary eye treatments.
Join us in our mission to bring the gift of clear vision to those in need. Together, we're creating a community where every individual has the opportunity to see the world with clarity and hope.
OUR STORY
Operation Sight began in 2011 when three South Carolina physicians—Dr. John Boatwright, Dr. Paul Herring, and Dr. Kerry Solomon—recognized the urgent need for cataract surgery among uninsured residents. What started as a local initiative soon grew into a volunteer-powered movement.
Today, with over 80 dedicated medical and support volunteers, Operation Sight has provided more than 750 free eye surgeries—restoring vision and changing lives across South Carolina.
